Viz of the Month: August 2024

About this viz: This ggbeeswarm shows the distribution of three pieces of data concurrently: the age of participants when they joined the California Teachers Study (age at baseline, 1995-1996), the age at which participants had their first full term pregnancy, and whether or not participants reported ever having used fertility drugs to try to become pregnant. For this viz, full term pregnancy means a pregnancy that resulted in a live birth or a still birth.

This viz shows that participants who were younger at baseline tended to have their first full term pregnancy at an older age than their older counterparts. Fertility drug use was more commonly reported among study participants who were younger when they joined the study (under 60 years) as well as among participants who were in their 30s or 40s at their first full term pregnancy.
