About this viz: This tile chart shows the most common research topics in California Teachers Study publications. The X axis shows different known risk factors, meaning the characteristics or exposures that may increase a person's risk of disease. The Y axis shows the health topic of interest, meaning the health condition that was evaluated in a given publication.
The colors in this chart reflect how common each health outcome-risk factor pair was across CTS publications. The darkest color (green) is the most common topic pair. Within CTS publications, breast cancer & genetics were the most common health outcome-risk factor research area, followed by publications looking at Research Methods and "Other" health outcomes (a catch-all category used to capture when the research question was not focused on one specific health condition).
